When is registration opening and closing?

  • Opening – Monday, June 17, 2024.
  • Closing – Friday, July 12, 2024.

What are our learning options this year?

  • We will have in person classes this autumn.  All Sunday classes will be held at South School 8 Farm Road, New Canaan. You may choose from the following time slots 8:45am – 9:45am or 11:15am – 12:15pm. Your selection is the time you will attend all year long.
  • For grades 3 through 6 we also have a Choir and Religion class which will meet on Tuesday’s. Time is 4:15pm to 5:30pm.  This option is only for students who have completed 1st and 2nd grade and made their Communion. 
  • For Pre-K through 2nd grade we have a NEW program called The Mass through Music. This class will meet on Thursday’s in the Church from 4:00pm to 4:30pm.  If your child is in 2nd grade and choosing this option they also have to sign up for a Sunday time as well to prepare for their sacraments.
  • Grades 7 & 8 are Confirmation Prep classes.
  • We are also offering a homeschool option for grades 3 through 6.  Students and parents will be asked to sign an agreement stating that they will complete the lessons on a weekly basis and submit them to Danielle Sibilia at directorreligioused@starcc.com
  • There will be no remote or zoom option.

Do I need my Parishsoft ID to create my new LEAD account?

  • No, this is an optional field and will not prevent you from creating your account. It will be populated later for you by a Religious Education Staff member.

What is the tuition for this year?

  • 1 child = $350
  • 2 children = $475
  • 3 or more children = $600
  • Homeschool = $40 per child
  • Students of Catechist = $25 per child

How do I calculate tuition if I have an in-person student and homeschool students?

  • 1 child at $350 + 2 Homeschool children at $40 calculates as: $350+80= $430.

Can I still register after the deadline?

  • Yes, but you must call the office and speak to Danielle Sibilia to coordinate

What safety measures are we taking?

  • We will be following all Diocese of Bridgeport safety guidelines.  Specific details will be communicated to parents prior to the start of classes.

What if I don’t remember my username?

  • We are using a new registration platform, so everyone is starting new.

Can I register in person?

  • No, registration is done online only. You can use a computer, phone or tablet. If you’re having trouble we are happy to walk you through it.

When will I get my class assignment?

  • A letter will be mailed to you with class assignments beginning of September.

When do classes start and end?

  • Classes start on Sunday, Sept 15th, 2024 and end on Sunday, April 6th, 2025.

What happens if I select a time when I register and then I find out closer to the start date that time doesn’t work?

Will I be able to change my child’s time midyear, if we have an activity that comes up?

  • Classes are assigned at the beginning of the school year and will not be altered.

Do I have to pay tuition at the time I register?

  • Once you complete the online portion of the registration you will receive an email with details on how to pay tuition. It’s a separate portal that goes directly to our parish website.

How do I apply for tuition assistance this year?

  • There is no longer a separate document to fill out for tuition assistance. You can fill it out online when your registering.

If I don’t receive the registration payment email what can I do?

  • Check your spam folder; or
  • Click here to be directed to our payment portal.

The amount is blank when I go to the payment window, is that correct?

  • Yes, the amount is blank, and you must manually type in the tuition you are paying.  Please refer to the FAQ regarding tuition amounts above.

How do I pay tuition?

  • If you don’t receive the registration payment email click here to go right to the payment portal.
  • Manually enter the amount you are paying for tuition along with your child(ren) names.
  • Add to the basket.
  • Click on the basket in the upper right-hand corner and finish the steps to check out.

If my child was baptized at St. Aloysius do you need their baptismal certificate?

  • No, only students who were baptized at a parish other than St. Aloysius need to provide us with a copy of their child’s baptismal certificate.

My child is in 8th grade do I still have to register them even though they were assigned in 7th grade to a Catechist and a day?

  • Yes, all students must be registered in our system regardless of grade.
  • Your 8th grader will continue on in the same class with the same Catechist.

We missed a year or more of Religious Education what do we do?

  • Religious Education starts in grade 1. We are opening our program to Pre-K (age 4) this year but it’s not a requirement to attend Pre-K or Kindergarten. If your child has missed 1st grade Religious Education and they are currently going into 2ndgrade, please sign them up for 1st grade Religious Education.  We can discuss catching up after they make their Sacrament.
