PARISH OUTREACH & COMMUNITY BUILDING

CHRISTMAS  STAR PROGRAM – Pluck a “star family” from the Christmas tree in church.  Then take your family and get shopping.  Wrap it all up and bring to the gym where the volunteer elves load up and drive the “starships” to their destinations.  A needy family will have a bountiful Christmas and your family will get the best gift of all – the one of giving to others.  To help, contact Hope Carter, 203-966-5186, HopeCarter77@gmail.com

PARISH NURSE PROGRAM – Once a month, our nurses are available to monitor your blood pressure after the weekend Masses. A great and very healthy service!  If you need help, or if you are a nurse and can help in the parish, contact Kim McNamara at kmcnamara@mac.com

HOMEBOUND EXTRAORDINARY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS –  Volunteers bring the Eucharist to those who are home-bound.  If you would like to receive Holy Communion at home or volunteer, contact: Allison McCarthy at 203-652-1170 or amccarthy@starcc.com

MOTHER TERESA’S CLOSET – Our little red house in the back of the parking lot is the drop off for gently used clothing that is sorted and distributed to families in need throughout the local area.  Contact: Mary Ward, mbwcdw@optonline.net

NEVER TOO YOUNG TO SERVE – Family service opportunities are offered to our younger disciples as they gather together with their parents/grandparents who model the call to be the face of Christ to others.  Opportunities include quarterly large scale community of faith hands-on service service projects after the Family mass, at home family service projects and lay liturgical roles at the Family Mass, all which enable our parish to support parents as they begin to teach children the call to Christian service.   Contact: Chris Otis at 203-652-1154 or at youth@starcc.com

EVENTS TEAM – We are the go-to group for parties and events.  If you like to cook, decorate tables, or plan parties – this is the “team’ for you!  Contact: Carroll Yanicelli, 203-966-6524 at cbyanicelli@me.com
