I am happy to announce that Bishop Caggiano has assigned Michael Crane to serve as a deacon at Saint Aloysius parish. Michael and his wife Alycia are already a part of our Saint Aloysius family, and you will recognize Michael from his leadership in Stephen Ministry, Men’s Bible Study and the Men’s Spirituality ministry. Since he was installed as an acolyte (the last step before ordination to the diaconate), Michael has served in the sanctuary and as an ordinary minister of Holy Communion. A recently retired attorney, Michael also works as a colleague of mine in the bishop’s office where he serves as Vice Chancellor of the Diocese.
A life-long Catholic, husband and father of three adult sons, Michael brings many gifts to his ministry as a deacon in our parish. He is a man of prayer who loves the Church and has an inspiring compassion for God’s people. He has excelled in his theological studies, has an affinity for Scripture, and possesses a gentle and inviting spirit. Deacon Bill and my brother priests and I are looking forward to partnering with Michael in bringing Christ to you.
Michael will be ordained to the permanent diaconate on Saturday, June 20 along with two other men. The ordination will take place at Saint Augustine Cathedral in Bridgeport at 11:00 AM. Please keep him and all who are being ordained this spring in your prayers.
