OF MANY THINGS

Last Saturday Bishop Caggiano gave our middle schoolers the gift of the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Bishop’s words to
sponsors, parents, and those confirmed were nothing short of inspiring. Bishop Frank challenged the young people to be great, which he defined as being holy. In this age of social media and too much information, it is imperative to be the person Jesus wants us to be and to stay close to Him in the Church. First Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at the end of April, so please keep our little ones in your prayers as they joyfully anticipate receiving Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time.

Take a few minutes to check out the bulletin boards near the rear doors of the church. There are some beautiful
photographs of Holy Week at Saint Aloysius. Once again I want to express my thanks to the clergy and staff for going above and
beyond in my absence. So many parishioners commented on the beauty of the liturgies. Thanks to Gregg’s Landscaping for
supplying beautiful flowers for our sanctuary for Easter and to Trisha Albus who brought us flowers for the other days and a palm
arrangement for Palm Sunday. The music was exquisite thanks to Dr. John Michniewicz and our choirs and instrumentalists. We had record crowds on Easter, and by the way our average Sunday attendance is even higher than before the pandemic.

The building project continues on time and on budget. The refinishing of the pews, installation of carpeting in the church, and
new heating system are in place. We will soon be working on the confessionals, carpeting the chapel and remaining hallways in the
church, remodeling the rest rooms and redesigning the quiet room near the music office to accommodate a vesting room for the
priests. (The sacristy will remain near the sanctuary.) Work on a renovation of Stapleton Hall is underway, thanks to a gift from the
Knights of Columbus who will soon have a proper meeting and socializing space that can be used for other parish events as needed.
The subterranean structures for the Education and Faith Center and Chapel are in place and lots of concrete has been poured. You
will soon see the new structure rise from the foundation. We anticipate completion of that building in summer of 2025. The flooring on the top floor of 40 Maple Street has been replaced, and it’s on to the second floor next week. Stay tuned for some video updates, and check out the time lapse video of the building construction on our website.

The We Stand with Christ Campaign continues until we meet our goal of $26 million. Right now we are just shy of $20
million, and we are reaching out to those who have not had a chance to participate in this exciting endeavor. Please help us reach
the goal so we can create the space, both indoor and outdoor, that will transform our prayer, worship, and fellowship! Beginning next week, there will be a regular section of the bulletin that will update you on pledges and the progress on the different aspects of the project. In the meantime, please pray for the success of this important adventure in the life of the Saint Aloysius Parish Family.

Please don’t forget the Annual Bishop’s Appeal (“A.B.A.”). Funds provide important resources for the various ministries of
our diocese. We are at about 30% of our goal at this point. You will recall that we did not have a direct ask for the Bishop’s Appeal
for the past two years because it was folded into the We Stand with Christ Campaign. Now that we are winding down the campaign,
we are back in “A.B.A.” mode, please be as generous as you can so that ministries like Catholic Charities, the priests’ retirement
residence, Catholic education, seminarians and deacon candidates will receive what they need. Thanks, in advance, for your
generosity!

As we continue in this Easter Season, today’s gospel challenges us to recognize the Risen Christ. May we never fail to find
Him in the words of Scripture, the Eucharist, and in one another!

Yours in the Risen Christ,
